Marshmemo ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Marshmemo mobile application ("the App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services.

Audio Data: When you record audio, the recording is streamed in real-time to Deepgram for transcription. We do not store your audio files. Audio is processed and immediately discarded after transcription.

Notes and Content: Your notes, transcriptions, AI-generated summaries, and transformation results are stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not upload or store your note content on our servers.

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage metrics (e.g., number of recordings, transformation types used) to improve the App. This data cannot be linked back to your specific notes or content.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the App's functionality
• To process audio transcriptions via Deepgram
• To generate AI-powered summaries and transformations via Google Gemini
• To manage your subscription through RevenueCat
• To authenticate your account through Firebase Authentication
• To improve the App based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Deepgram — Speech-to-text transcription. Audio is streamed and not stored.
• Google Gemini (AI) — Content generation for summaries, flashcards, and transformations. Text content is sent for processing and not retained by Google for training.
• Firebase Authentication — Account management and sign-in.
• RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management.

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your notes and generated content are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to the content of your notes. Account information is protected using Firebase's security infrastructure.

5. What We Do NOT Do

• We never sell your personal data to third parties
• We never train AI models on your private notes
• We never store your audio recordings
• We never place bots in your meetings or calls
• We never share your note content with advertisers

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which will remove your authentication data from our servers. Notes stored on your device are under your control and can be deleted at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
